[2022.2.16] Watching Aioi Gakuen College players

Diary

Today I watched Aioi Gakuen College players (age 15-17) and they were really good, they had their feet moving all the time, and they were always brushing and hitting through the ball, they never hit down.

What I learned

  1. They had their feet moving all the time, and they were always brushing and hitting through the ball, they never hit down.
  2. They did their setup low so they were hitting the ball high, and deep.
  3. For their backhand they weren’t rotating their arms they were rotating their hips so they had so much topspin on the ball, and it was as deep and strong as much as their forehand.
  4. They uses slice a lot for their backhand so they were also using change of pace.
  5. Before the hitting starts they did so much shadow swing, and all of their shadow swings was beautiful.
  6. They hit their ball close stance if they were able to do that which means they were using their back leg to adjust and to go forward to the ball.
  7. None of them used drop shot and it is a bad habit of mine I think if I hit with people like this or get coached by people like them I can eventually get rid of my bad habit and change it into a good stroke habit
