How was today? What was it like?
There were lots of people and today we did positioning. Taking time, and space.
It was hard for me to lift the ball because I don’t usually hit topspin. It was hard at first but I started to know how to bring it up, and then it was easy.
What piece of advice did your coach give you?
- the faster you hit the faster it comes back so when I have an open court don’t try and hit it back instead use the high spin ball to gain time and to lift the ball up.
- When the ball is short it is easier to get it to angle so try to hit it deep.
- When I hit a good shot go forward because most likely they will use a high ball and when it happens crush that ball, don’t let them get back and recover.
To improve from now on what are you going to think when you are playing tennis.
- Think more not move more.
- Work smarter, not harder I need to think about a change of pace, especially against a player who is good at baseline topspin. use a backhand drop shot to make your opponent come to the front.
- I will try to go forward more to get a volley.
