There were 6 people including me and we all played 5 matches because it is round the robin. I won 3 and lost 2, I won my first 3 matches then I lost the last 2 against Nilo, and Soichiro, Nilo is actually in the same tennis club as me and I played against Soichiro at Tarumi Green Tennis club. And I won over there.
Things against Nilo, I lost against him 5-7
Good things
- I hit his backhand because I knew his forehand is better than mine. And I hit my chance to the cross-court.
- I hit many forehands with topspin at the end Nilo did 99% with slice and it was Astro so it was powerful, even though it was powerful I kept playing my game and I hit everything with topspin.
- I didn’t do much double fault, and I did my tose on my right and I did powerful forehand.
- I countered Nilo’s powerful flat forehand with my backhand and when a normal ball came I hit it hard.
Things to do to win next time
- I could have won if I played more aggressively because when I started losing I started going so defensive.
- Use more slice not drop shot. I used many slices when I can go aggressive, but what’s important is to change something when I am losing because when I am losing it means that they have more points than me so I need to stop them from getting so many points.
- In tennis, there are 2 things about the opponent, things they don’t like and things they like, and if I know that, I will play so much better.
Things against Soichiro, I lost against him 5-7
Good things
- I was in my zone and I quickly got 4 games in a row from 0-3, but then I got out of the zone.
- Zone happens, when you feel fun or exciting to play the match.
- I was returning his fast flat serve.
- I knew that he likes to hit the forehand crosscourt so I kept going to the cross-court when he is about to hit his forehand.
Things to do to win next time
- when I know that I am in the zone when I notice I can get out of the zone quickly so think about something about tennis.
- Say more nice shots and have fun and don’t rush to win, I sometimes become too hard on myself.
- Stand back for the opponent 1sts serve.
